숙달해야 할 그리스도인 과학

숙달해야 할 그리스도인 과학,

하늘이 땅보다 높은 것같이 어떤 인간적 과학보다 훨씬 더 깊고, 넓고, 높은 과학이 있다.

마음은 연단받고, 교육받고, 훈련받을 필요가 있다.
왜냐하면 우리는 천성적인 인간의 경향과 일치되지 않는 방면에서

하나님을 위하여 봉사하여야 하기 때문이다.

악으로 기울어지는 선천적 혹은 후천적 성향은 극복되어야 한다.
그리스도의 학교에서 배우는 사람이 되기 위하여 때로는 필생의 교육과 훈련을 버리지 않으면 안된다.

우리의 마음이 하나님 안에서 확고해 지도록 교육을 받아야 한다.
우리는 유혹을 저항할 수 있도록 생각하는 습관을 형성해야 한다.

우리는 위를 쳐다보는 법을 배워야 한다.

하나님의 말씀의 원칙, 곧 하늘처럼 높고 영원을 포함한 원칙을 우리는 일상생활과 관련시켜서 이해해야 한다.

모든 행동, 모든 말, 모든 생각은 이 원칙과 일치되어야 한다.

모든 것은 그리스도와 조화를 이루고, 그분께 굴복되어야 한다.

A Science of Christianity to be Mastered

There is a science of Christianity to be mastered—a science as much deeper,
broader, higher than any human science as the heavens are higher than the
earth.
The mind is to be disciplined, educated, trained; for we are to do service
for God in ways that are not in harmony with inborn inclination.

Hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil must be overcome. Often the
education and training of a lifetime must be discarded, that one may become
a learner in the school of Christ.

Our hearts must be educated to become steadfast in God. We are to form
habits of thought that will enable us to resist temptation.

We must learn to look upward. The principles of the word of God—principles
that are as high as heaven, and that compass eternity—we are to understand
in their bearing upon our daily life.

Every act, every word, every thought, is to be in accord with these
principles. All must be brought into harmony with, and subject to, Christ.
