인생의 행복의 요체를 만드는 것

계발된 지성은 큰 보물이다. 

그러나 동정어린 그리고 성화된 사랑의 부드럽게 하는 영향이 없다면 그것이 가장 가치 있지는 않다.

우리는 다른 사람에게 자애로운 동정의 말과 행위를 해야 한다. 

우리는 친절한 말과 유쾌한 표정으로 일천 가지의작은 관심들을 나타낼 수 있으며, 

그렇게 하면 그것은 다시 우리에게 반사되어 돌아올 것이다.

분별없는 그리스도인들은

다른 사람들을 등한히 함으로써 그들이 그리스도와 연합하고 있지 않다는 것을 나타낸다. 

그리스도와 연합하면서도 다른 사람들에 대하여 불친절하고 그들의 권리를 망각하는 일은 불가능하다. 

많은 사람들은 친절한 동정을 극도로 갈망하고 있다.

Making up the Sum of Life’s Happines

A cultivated intellect is a great treasure; but without the softening influence of sympathy and sanctified love it is not of the highest value.

We should have words and deeds of tender consideration for others. We can manifest a thousand little attentions in friendly words and pleasant looks, which will be reflected upon us again.

Thoughtless Christians manifest by their neglect of others that they are not in union with Christ. 

It is impossible to be in union with Christ and yet be unkind to others and forgetful of their rights. Many long intensely for friendly sympathy.
