하나님을 그대의 상담자로 모시라

그대의 어려운 문제들을 형제나 목회자에게 가지고 가는 대신에, 기도로 하나님께 가져가라.

목회자를 하나님께서 계셔야 할 곳에 두지 말고, 그를 그대의 기도의 주제로 삼으라.

우리는 이 점에 있어서 모두 잘못을 범해 왔다.

 

그리스도의 목회자는 다른 사람들과 마찬가지다.

실로 그는 평범한 사업가보다 더 신성한 책임들을 지고 있지만,

실수를 범할 수 없는 사람은 아니다.

그는 연약함에 싸여 있으며, 은혜와 거룩한 조명을 필요로 한다.

그는 봉사에 대한 충분한 증거를 나타내면서, 빈틈없이 성공적으로 그의 일을 행하기 위해

하늘의 기름부음을 필요로 한다.

 

생명과 구원의 길에 대하여 무지한 사람들이 있다.

이런 사람들은 그들이 구원받기 위해 무엇을 해야 할지를 가르쳐 줄

경건한 목회자들을 발견할 것이다.

기도하는 방법을 알고 그리스도의 복음의 초청이 무엇인지 아는 자들,

그분의 약속의 불변성을 아는 자들이

그들의 짐을 유한한 인간에게 내려놓는다면 이는 하나님께 욕을 돌리는 것이다.

 

함께 논의하는 일은 항상 옳다. 함께 대화하는 것은 항상 옳다.

어떤 사업에서건 닥쳐오는 난관들을 그대의 형제들과 목회자에게 명백하게 알리는 것은 옳다.

그러나 지혜를 얻기 위해 사람을 의존함으로써 하나님을 욕되게 하지 말라.

위로부터 오는 지혜를 얻기 위하여 하나님을 찾으라.

 

그대의 동료 일꾼들에게 그대와 함께 기도하자고 요청하라.

그러면 주께서는 “두세 사람이 내 이름으로 모인 곳에는 나도 그들 중에 있느니라”(마 18: 20)고

하신 그분의 말씀을 성취하실 것이다.

Make God Your Counselor

In the place of bearing your perplexities to a brother or a minister, take them to the Lord in prayer. Do not place the minister where God should be but make him a subject of your prayers. We have all erred on this point.

The minister of Christ is like other men. True, he bears more sacred responsibilities than a common businessman, but he is not infallible. He is compassed with infirmity, and needs grace and divine enlightenment. He needs the heavenly unction to do his work with exactitude and success, giving full proof of his ministry.

There are those who are ignorant of the way of life and salvation, and these will find in the godly minister one who will teach them what they shall do to be saved. (1MCP 262.2)

 Those who know how to pray, who know what are the invitations of the gospel of Christ, who know the immutability of His promises, show dishonor to God when they lay their burden upon finite men.

It is right, always, to counsel together. It is right to converse together. It is right to make the difficulties that present themselves in any enterprise plain before your brethren and your minister. But do not so greatly dishonor God as to depend on man for wisdom. Seek God for the wisdom that cometh from above.

Ask your fellow laborers to pray with you, and the Lord will fulfill His word, “Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
