Prayer Brings Power

               

기도는 능력을 가져 온다

 

The strength acquired in prayer to God will prepare us for our daily duties.

The temptations to which we are daily exposed make prayer a necessity. 

 

하나님께 기도함으로써 우리는 능력을 얻어 일상의 의무에 대한 준비를 하게 된다. 

나날이 유혹에 직면하는 우리는 기도가 절실히 필요하다. 

 

In order that we may be kept by the power of God through faith,

the desires of the mind should be continually ascending in silent prayer.

When we are surrounded by influences calculated to lead us away from God,

our petitions for help and strength must be unwearied.

Unless this is so, we shall never be successful

in breaking down pride and overcoming the power of temptation to sinful indulgences

which keep us from the Saviour. 

 

믿음을 통해 하나님의 능력의 보호를 받으려면

은밀한 기도로써 우리 마음의 소원을 끊임없이 하나님께 상달시켜야 한다. 

우리를 이끌어 하나님에게서 떠나게 하려는 모든 세력에 둘러싸여 있을 때

도움과 힘을 베풀어 달라는 우리의 간구는 중단되지 말아야 한다. 

이렇게 하지 않는 한 우리는

자만하는 마음을 깨뜨리고 우리를 구주로부터 떠나게 하고, 죄악 방종으로 이끄는

유혹의 힘을 이기는데 성공하지 못할 것이다. 

 

The light of truth, sanctifying the life,

will discover to the receiver the sinful passions of his heart

which are striving for the mastery,

and which make it necessary for him to stretch every nerve

and exert all his powers to resist Satan

that he may conquer through the merits of Christ.  

 

생애를 성화시키는 진리의 빛은 그 빛을 받는 자에게, 

그 마음을 지배하기 위하여 다투는 죄된 정욕들을 알게 할 것인바, 

이 일이 그로 하여금 그리스도의 공로로 승리를 얻도록 모든 신경을 건강하게 하고, 

모든 힘을 다하여 사단을 반대하게 한다.
