이 세상은 그리스도인에게 하나님의 일터이다

 

 

이 세상은 그리스도인의 천국이 아니다. 단지 하나님의 일터일 뿐이다.

여기서 우리들은 거룩한 하늘의 흠없는 천사들과 연합하기 위해서 준비되고 있다.

우리는 끊임없이 고귀하고 이타적인 생각을 하도록 우리의 마음을 훈련시켜야 한다.

 

이러한 교육은

하나님께서 우리에게 주신 능력을 연마하여 이 땅에서 그분의 성호에 영광이 가도록 하는 데

꼭 필요한 것이다.

 

우리는 하나님께로부터 모든 고귀한 자질과 함께 그것들을 관리할 책임도 부여 받았다.

그분께서 계획하지 않으신 길로 이 능력을 사용하는 것은 그분께 배은 망덕을 표하는 비루한 짓이다.

 

하나님을 섬기는 일은 우리 존재의 모든 능력을 요구한다.

우리가 하나님의 영광을 위하여 이 능력들을 최고로 계발시키지 않고,

하늘 사물을 명상하기를 즐기도록 마음을 훈련시키지 않고,

바른 행위로 영혼의 힘을 강인하고 고상하게 하지 않는다면

우리는 하나님께서 뜻하는 것에 이르지 못하게 된다.

 

This world is the workshop of God for Christian

 

This world is not the Christian’s heaven, but merely the workshop of God,

where we are to be fitted up to unite with sinless angels in a holy heaven.

We should be constantly training the mind to noble, unselfish thoughts.

 

This education is necessary to so bring into exercise the powers

which God has given us that His name shall best be glorified upon the earth.

 

We are accountable for all the noble qualities which God has given us,

and to put these faculties to a use He never designed

we should is showing base ingratitude to Him.

 

The service of God demands all the powers of our being,

and we fail of meeting the design of God

unless we bring these powers to a high state of cultivation,

and educate the mind to love to contemplate heavenly things,

and strengthen and ennoble the energies of the soul by right actions,

operating to the glory of God.
