너희 안에 이 마음을 품으라

 

“너희 안에 이 마음을 품으라 곧 그리스도 예수의 마음이니

그는 근본 하나님의 본체시나 하나님과 동등됨을 취할 것으로 여기지 아니하시고

오히려 자기를 비어 종의 형체를 가져 사람들과 같이 되셨고.”

 

종이 주인보다 더 큰가?

 

그리스도께서는 그의 삶을 우리의 모본으로 주셨다.

우리가 당하는 멸시로 인해 마음이 들꿇고, 모든 실지의 혹은 가상의 손해에 대해 분개한다면

그분의 명예를 실추시키는 것이다.

자아를 변호하고 우리 자신의 위엄을 세우려는 일은 고상한 마음의 증거가 아니다.

우리는 보복의 정신이나 화를 쏟아냄으로 영혼을 상처입히기 보다는

수백 번 잘못된 대우를 당하는 편이 더 났다.

 

하나님께로부터 얻을 수 있는 힘이 있다. 그분께서 도우실 수 있다.

그분께서 은혜와 하늘의 지혜를 주실 수 있다.

그대가 믿음으로 구하기만 한다면, 그대는 받을 것이다.

그러자면 그대는 깨어 기도해야 한다.

깨어라, 기도하라, 일하라. 이것이 우리의 경구가 되어야 한다.

 

Let This Mind Be In You

 

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant,

and was made in the likeness of men.”

 

Is the servant greater than his master?

 

Christ has given us His life as a pattern, and we dishonor Him

when we become jealous of every slight, and are ready to resent every injury,

supposed or real.

It is not an evidence of a noble mind to be prepared to defend self,

to preserve our own dignity.

We would better suffer wrongfully a hundred times

than wound the soul by a spirit of retaliation, or by giving vent to wrath.

There is strength to be obtained of God. He can help.

He can give grace and heavenly wisdom.

If you ask in faith, you will receive; but you must watch unto prayer.

Watch, pray, work, should be your watchword.
