불순한 암시를 순결하고 향상시키는 생각으로 바꾸라

마음으로 순결하고 거룩한 주제들을 계속 명상해야 한다.

불순한 암시를 즉시 물리쳐야 하며, 순결하고 향상시키는 생각 즉 거룩한 명상을 품어야 한다.

그렇게 하여 하늘의 사물들을 명상하는 일에 마음을 훈련시킴으로써

하나님에 대한 지식을 더욱더 많이 얻어야 한다.

하나님께서는 모든 경우들에 적용이 가능한 단순한 수단, 위대한 목적

즉 영혼의 구원을 확보하기에 충분한 수단을 갖고 계신다.

높고 거룩한 표준에 도달하기로 결심하라. 그대의 목표를 높게 세우라.

다니엘처럼 진지한 목적을 가지고 꾸준히, 참을성 있게 행동하라.

그러면 원수가 행하는 어떤 것도 그대의 향상을 방해하지 못할 것이다.

불편함과 변화와 난관에도 불구하고 그대는 정신과 원기와 도덕적 능력에 있어서 끊임없이 향상할 수 있다.

 

Exchange Impure Suggestions for Pure, Elevating Thoughts

The mind must be kept meditating upon pure and holy subjects.

An impure suggestion must be dismissed at once,

and pure, elevating thoughts, holy contemplation, be entertained, thus obtaining more and more

knowledge of God by training the mind in the contemplation of heavenly things.

God has simple means open to every individual case, sufficient to secure the great end,

the salvation of the soul.

Resolve to reach a high and holy standard; make your mark high;

act with earnest purpose, as did Daniel, steadily, perseveringly,

and nothing that the enemy can do will hinder your improvement.

Notwithstanding inconveniences, changes, perplexities,

you may constantly advance in mental vigor and moral power.
