좁은 길을 가고 있는 자들

 

좁은 길을 가고 있는 자들은 그들이 여행 끝에 가질 기쁨과 행복에 대하여 이야기하고 있다.

그들의 얼굴은 가끔 슬픈 빛을 띠나, 자주 거룩하고 성스러운 빛으로 빛난다.

그들은 넓은 길에 있는 무리처럼 옷입거나 말하거나 행동하지 않는다.

 

그들에게는 한 분의 모본이 주어져 있었다.

간고를 겪으신 자요 질고를 아는 자께서 그들을 위하여 그 길을 여셨고, 친히 그 길로 걸어가셨다.

그분을 따르는 자들은 그분의 발자취를 보고 위로와 기쁨을 얻는다.

그분께서는 안전하게 지나가셨다.

그러므로 그분의 발자취를 따르는 한, 그들 역시 안전하게 지나갈 수 있다.

 

Those who travel in the narrow way

 

Those who travel in the narrow way are talking of the joy and happiness

they will have at the end of the journey.

Their countenances are often sad, yet often beam with holy, sacred joy.

They do not dress like the company in the broad road,

or talk like them, or act like them.

 

A Pattern has been given them.

A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief opened that road for them,

and traveled it Himself.

His followers see His footsteps and are comforted and cheered.

He went through safely; so can they, if they follow His footsteps.
