우리가 하나님을 위해 일할 시간은 매우 짧다

 

우리가 장차 그리스도의 영광에 참여하기를 원한다면 현세에서 그분의 고난에 동참해야 한다.

 

만일 우리가 하나님을 기쁘시게 하고 어렵지만 그분의 귀중한 사업을 발전시키려고 하지 않고,

우리자신을 기쁘게 하는 일을 추구한다면

하나님과 우리가 사랑한다고 공언하는 그분의 거룩한 사업에 욕을 돌리게 된다.

 

우리가 하나님을 위해 일할 시간은 매우 짧다.

흩어지고 찢긴 예수님의 양 떼를 구원하기 위하여 희생하기가 너무 아까운 것은 아무것도 없다.

현세에서 희생으로 하나님과 언약 관계에 들어간 자들은

멀지 않아 땅을 유업으로 받게 될 것이며

풍부한 보상을 받아 새로운 왕국을 영영토록 소유하게 될 것이다.

 

 

 

 

We Have But a Little Time Left in Which to Work for God

We must be partakers of Christ’s sufferings here if we would share in His glory hereafter. If we seek our own interest, how we can best please ourselves, instead of seeking to please God and advance His precious, suffering cause, we shall dishonor God and the holy cause we profess to love. We have but a little space of time left in which to work for God. Nothing should be too dear to sacrifice for the salvation of the scattered and torn flock of Jesus. Those who make a covenant with God by sacrifice now will soon be gathered home to share a rich reward and possess the new kingdom forever and ever. – Early Writings, 47.
