도움은 가까이 있다

하나님의 섭리의 보호가 삼손에게 임하여 그로 하여금 맡겨진 사업을 성취할 준비를 할 수 있도록 하였었다. 삼손의 생애는 바로 시초부터 체력과 지력과 도덕적 순결을 위한 좋은 조건에 놓여 있었다.

그러나 악한 동무들의 감화로 인하여 삼손은

인간의 유일한 안전한 방벽이 되시는 하나님을 의지하는 일을 버리고 악의 조수에 휩쓸려 버렸다.

의무의 길을 따르는 자들이 시련을 당하면 하나님께서 그들을 보호하실 것이나

만일 사람들이 고의로 자신들을 유혹의 세력 하에 두면 그들은 조만간에 넘어질 것이다.

 

하나님께서 특별한 사업을 위하여 당신의 도구로 사용하시려고 하는 자들을

사단은 전력을 다하여 타락시키려 한다.

사단은 우리의 약점을 이용하여 우리를 공격하고

품성의 결점들을 통하여 우리의 심신을 모두 지배하려 하고 있으며,

우리가 이 결점들을 계속 품고 있다면 그가 성공하리라는 것을 알고 있다.

그러나 아무도 패배할 필요가 없다.

인간은 자신의 연약한 노력으로 악의 세력을 정복하도록 홀로 버려둔 바 되지 않았다.

 

도움은 가까이 있으며 참으로 도움을 갈망하는 모든 영혼에게 도움이 주어질 것이다.

야곱이 계시 가운데 본, 사다리를 오르락내리락 하던 하나님의 천사가

원하는 모든 영혼을 도와 가장 높은 하늘에까지 오르게 할 것이다.

Help is at Hand

 

God's providential care had been over Samson, that he might be prepared to accomplish the work which he was called to do. At the very outset of life he was surrounded with favorable conditions for physical strength, intellectual vigor, and moral purity. But under the influence of wicked associates he let go that hold upon God which is man's only safeguard, and he was swept away by the tide of evil. Those who in the way of duty are brought into trial may be sure that God will preserve them; but if men willfully place themselves under the power of temptation, they will fall, sooner or later.

The very ones whom God purposes to use as His instruments for a special work, Satan employs his utmost power to lead astray. He attacks us at our weak points, working through defects in the character to gain control of the whole man; and he knows that if these defects are cherished, he will succeed. But none need be overcome. Man is not left alone to conquer the power of evil by his own feeble efforts. Help is at hand and will be given to every soul who really desires it. Angels of God, that ascend and descend the ladder which Jacob saw in vision, will help every soul who will, to climb even to the highest heaven. – Patriarchs and prophets, 558.
