사람의 심령을 시험할 때가 바로 우리 앞에 다가왔다.
그러므로, 믿음이 약한 자들은 그 위기의 날에 있을 시험에 견디지 못할 것이다.
요한 계시록의 위대한 진리를 주의 깊이 연구하여야 한다.

왜냐하면, 모두 하나님의 말씀에 대한 밝은 지식이 요구되기 때문이다.

성경 연구와 예수님과의 매일의 교통을 통하여,

우리는 개인의 책임에 대한 분명하고 명확한 견해를 갖게 되고

시련과 유혹의 날에 설 수 있는 힘을 얻게 될 것이다.
보이지 않는 사슬로 그리스도와 연합한 생애를 하는 자는

구원에 이르는 믿음을 통하여 하나님의 능력으로 보호를 받게 될 것이다.

하나님께 속한 것에 더 많은 생각을 기울이고,
세속적 사물에 대하여는 생각을 적게 하라.
만일, 믿노라고 공언하면서

세상을 사랑하는 자가 자신의 마음을 그런 방향으로 기울일 것 같으면,

그가 지금 세속적인 사업에 정통하고 있는 그만큼

하나님의 말씀을 잘 알게 될 것이다.

그리스도께서는 “너희가 성경에서 영생을 얻는 줄 생각하고 성경을 상고하거니와

이 성경이 곧 내게 대하여 증거하는 것이로다”고 말씀하셨다(요 5:39)....

하나님과의 교통은 품성과 행동 전체에 도덕적 힘을 줄 것이다.

사람들은 최초의 제자들처럼 우리가 예수님과 함께 있었다는 것을 알게 될 것이다.

이것은 목사의 활동에, 그의 설교의 감화에서 오는 힘보다 훨씬 더 큰 힘을 줄 것이다.
그는 이 힘을 빼앗기지 않도록 해야 한다.

기도와 그분의 말씀의 연구를 통하여 하나님과 나누는 교통을

등한히 하지 말아야 한다.
왜냐하면, 여기에 그의 힘의 근원이 있기 때문이다.
교회를 위한 어떤 일도 이 일보다 앞장서서는 안 된다.

?Aroma of Life I Times to Try Men's Souls ?

Times that will try men's souls are just before us, and those who are weak in the faith will not stand the test of those days of peril.
The great truths of revelation are to be carefully studied, for we shall all want an intelligent knowledge of the word of God.

By Bible study and daily communion with Jesus we shall gain clear, well-defined views of individual responsibility and strength to stand in the day of trial and temptation.
He whose life is united to Christ by hidden links will be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

More thought should be given to the things of God, and less to temporal matters.
The world-loving professor, if he will exercise his mind in that direction, may become as familiar with the word of God as he now is with worldly business.

"Search the Scriptures," said Christ; "for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me." John 5:39.....

Communion with God will impart a moral elevation to the character and to the entire course of action. Men will take knowledge of us, as of the first disciples, that we have been with Jesus.
This will impart to the minister's labors a power even greater than that which comes from the influence of his preaching.
Of this power he must not allow himself to be deprived.

Communion with God through prayer and the study of His word must not be neglected,
for here is the source of his strength.
No work for the church should take precedence of this.
