다른 사람들을 비평하지 말고, 자신을 비평하라

그리스도인이라고 공언하는 모든 사람들이

그들의 통찰력을 다른 사람들의 잘못을 이야기하는 데 사용하는 대신에, 

교정해야 할 결점이 자기 자신에게 있다는 것을 알아내는 일에 사용했을 것 같으면, 

오늘날 그리스도 교회는 더 한층 건전한 상태에 놓이게 되었을 것이다.

어떤 사람은 아무런 희생이 따르지 않을 때는 정직하게 행동하지만

수완을 쓰는 것이 가장 좋아 보일 때는 정직을 잊어버릴 것이다. 

정직과 수완은 한 사람의 마음속에서 동시에 역사할 수 없다. 

조만간 수완이 쫓겨나고 진리와 정직이 지배권을 쥐든지, 수완을 간직함으로 정직을 잊어버리든지, 

둘 중 하나가 될 것이다. 

그것들은 결코 조화를 이루지 못한다. 

그것들은 공통점이 전혀 없다. 

하나는 바알의 선지자요, 다른 하나는 하나님의 참 선지자이다.

주님께서 당신의 보배를 모으실 때, 

그분은 진실한 자, 솔직한 자, 정직한 자들을 기쁨으로 바라보실 것이다. 

천사들은 이러한 사람들을 위하여 면류관을 만드는 일을 한다. 

그리고, 별빛으로 찬란한 그 면류관에는 하나님의 보좌에서 흘러나오는 빛이 찬란하게 반사될 것이다.

Criticize Self, Not Others

 Would all professed Christians use their investigative powers to see what evils needed to be corrected in themselves, Would all professed Christians use their investigative powers to see what evils needed to be corrected in themselves, instead of talking of others’ wrongs, there would be a more healthy condition in the church today.

Some will be honest when it costs nothing; but when policy will pay best, honesty is forgotten. 

Honesty and policy will not work together in the same mind. In time, either policy will be expelled, and truth and honesty reign supreme, or, if policy is cherished, honesty will be forgotten. 

They are never in agreement; they have nothing in common. one is the prophet of Baal, the other is the true prophet of God.

When the Lord makes up His jewels, the true, the frank, the honest, will be looked upon with pleasure. Angels are employed in making crowns for such ones, and upon these star-gemmed crowns will be reflected, with splendor, the light which radiates from the throne of God.
