하나님께 대한 참된 순복

가장 어렵게 보일 때 순종하는 것이 하나님께 대한 참된 순복이다.

 

이것은 그대의 도덕적 특성을 깨우치며 그대의 교만을 꺾게 한다.

 

그대의 뜻을 하나님의 뜻에 복종시키기를 배우라.

그러면 그대는 빛 가운데서 성도들의 기업을 받게 될 것이다.

통상적인 믿음으로 넉넉하지 못하다.

 

그리스도의 의의 옷을 입어야 하며

 

그 의를 공개적이고 담대하게 결정적으로 몸에 지니고 그리스도를 나타내라.

 

유한한 인간에게 너무 많은 것을 기대하지 말고 예수님을 바라보며

 

그분의 품성의 완전함으로 기뻐하라.

 

그러면 우리는 개인적으로 예수님의 품성을 나타내게 될 것이며

 

우리가 진리로 활기를 북돋는다는 것을 증거하게 될 것이다.

 

왜냐하면 그것이 영혼을 거룩하게 하고 모든 생각을 사로잡아 그리스도께 복종케 하기 때문이다.  

 

 

 

 

모든 선교사는 자신과 싸워야 할 힘든 전쟁터가 있으며

 

이런 싸움은 소수의 사람에게만 있는 것이 아니다.

 

그러나 만일 우리가 끊임없이 그리스도인의 경험 가운데 자라기만 한다면,

 

만일 우리가 믿음으로 끊임없이 예수님을 바라본다면,

 

모든 비상시를 위하여 힘이 우리에게 주어질 것이다.

 

재생시키는 모든 능력과 기능들은 끊임없이, 그리고 날마다 행사되어야 한다.

 

날마다 우리는 자신을 십자가에 못 박아야 하며

 

잘못된 방향으로 의지를 이끌려는 성향과 기질에 대항하여 싸워야 한다.

 

믿음으로 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 획득하신 승리를 우리의 것으로 하지 않는 한

 

승리에 대한 만족과 기쁨은 우리의 것이 되지 못할 것이다.

True Surrender to God

To obey when it seems the hardest is true surrender to God. This will quicken your moral nature and subdue your pride. Learn to submit your will to God’s will, and you will be made meet for the inheritance of the saints in light.

A general faith is not enough. We must put on the robe of Christ’s righteousness and wear it openly, bravely, decidedly, exhibiting Christ, and not expect too much of finite man, but keep looking unto Jesus, and become ravished with the perfections of His character.

Then we shall individually make manifest the character of Jesus, and make it evident that we are invigorated by the truth; because it sanctifies the soul and brings into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Every missionary will have hard battles to fight with self, and these combats will not become fewer. But if we are constantly growing in Christian experience, if we continue to look to Jesus in faith, strength will be given us for every emergency.

All the powers and faculties of a regenerated nature must be brought into constant, daily exercise. Every day we shall have occasion to crucify self, to war against inclination and a perverse temperament that would draw the will in a wrong direction. The repose and triumph of victory are not yet ours, except as we by faith enter into the victory that Christ has gained for us.
