그는 바로 예수님이시다.

THAT’S JESUS!

He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. - Isaiah 53:5

As a Jewish kid growing up in New York, Michael Brown had no interest in spiritual things. His life revolved around being a drummer for a band, and he got mixed up with drugs. But then some friends invited him to church, where he found the love and prayers of the people to be irresistible. After a short spiritual struggle, Michael trusted Jesus as Savior. This was a monumental change for a wayward Jewish teen. one day he told his dad he had heard about Old Testament texts describing Jesus. His dad, incredulous, asked, “Where?” When Michael opened his Bible, it fell to Isaiah 53. They read it, and Michael exclaimed, “That’s Him! That’s Jesus!” Indeed, it is Jesus. Through the help of Christians and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Brown (today a Bible scholar and an author) came to recognize the Messiah of Isaiah 53. He experienced the salvation that changes lives, forgives sin, and gives abundant life to all who trust the “Man of sorrows” (v.3). Jesus is the one who was “wounded for our transgressions” and who died for us on the cross (v.5). The Bible reveals Jesus, who alone has the power to change lives. - Dave Branon

God, I struggle with this idea of Jesus as Savior. I know He’s a good man, but I need to see that He is more than that. Please show me-through others or through the Bible-how I can know for sure who Jesus is.

The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to change hearts.   그는 바로 예수님이시다! 그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라-이사야 53:5 유태인 아이로 뉴욕에서 자라는 동안, 마이클 브라운은 영적인 문제에는 전혀 관심이 없었습니다. 그는 밴드에서 드럼을 치는 생활을 하다가 마약도 접하게 되었습니다. 어느 날 친구들의 초대로 찾아간 교회에서 그는 사람들이 베푸는 사랑과 기도에 크게 감동하였습니다. 마이클은 잠시 영적인 갈등이 있었지만 곧 예수님을 구주로 영접하였습니다. 고집 센 유태인 청소년으로서는 획기적인 변화였습니다. 어느 날 그는 아버지에게 예수님에 대해 기록하고 있는 구약성경 구절에 대해 들었다고 말했습니다. 그의 아버지가 못 믿겠다는 듯이 “어디에 있더냐”라고 묻자, 마이클은 성경을 펼쳐 이사야서 53장을 보여주었습니다. 그들은 같이 읽었고, 마이클이 이렇게 외쳤습니다. “이분이에요! 이분이 바로 예수님이에요!” 정말 그분이 예수님이 맞습니다. 그리스도인들의 도움과 성령님의 인도를 받아서 브라운(현재 성경학자 겸 작가)은 이사야서 53장에 나타난 메시야를 인정하게 되었습니다. 그는 “간고를 많이 겪은 자”(3절)를 믿는 모든 사람들의 삶이 변하고, 죄를 용서받고, 풍성한 삶을 얻는 그 구원을 경험하게 되었습니다. 예수님은 “우리의 허물 때문에 찔림을 받으셨고” 우리를 위해 십자가에서 죽임을 당하신 바로 그분이십니다(5절). 성경은 오직 예수님만이 삶을 변화시키는 능력을 갖고 계심을 보여주고 있습니다. 하나님, 예수님이 구주시라는 것을 받아들이는 것이 힘이 듭니다. 물론 예수님이 좋은 분이시라는 것을 알지만, 그분이 그 이상의 분이라는 것을 알고 싶습니다. 제가 예수님이 어떤 분이신지를 확실히 알 수 있도록 다른 사람들이나 성경을 통해 보여주소서. 성령은 우리의 마음을 변화시키기 위해 성경말씀을 사용하신다.
