그대는 그분께서 우리가 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻을 수 있도록 구원하시기 위해

그분 자신의 생명을 주심으로 그분의 사랑에 대한 증거를 주셨는데도,

의심함으로써 그리스도의 마음을 상하게 한다.

 

그분은 우리가 정확하게 무엇을 해야 할지를 말씀하셨다.

“수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라”(마 11: 28).

 

그들의 의심들에 대해서 불평하는 사람,

그들이 하나님과 연결되어 있다는 아무런 보증도 없다고 탄식하는 사람이 많이 있다.

 

이런 까닭은 그들이 하나님의 사업에서 아무 일도 하지 않고 있다는 사실에서

그 원인을 찾을 수 있는 경우가 비일비재하다.

 

그들로 하여금 다른 사람들을 돕고 복되게 하려고 열렬히 노력하도록 하라.

그러면 그들의 의심과 실망은 사라질 것이다.

You hurt the heart of Christ by doubting, when He has given us such evidences of His love in giving His own life to save us that we should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 

He has told us just what to do. “Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

 

There are many who complain of their doubts, who lament that they have no assurance of their connection with God.

 

This is often attributable to the fact that they are doing nothing in God’s cause.

 

Let them seek earnestly to help and bless others, and their doubts and despondency will disappear.
