나라이 임하옵시며

?생명의 향기 | 나라이 임하옵시며 ?

 

"나라이 임하옵시며" 마태복음 6장 10절.

하나님은 우리를 당신의 자녀로서 사랑하고 돌보시는 우리의 아버지이시다.

그분은 또한 우주의 크신 왕이기도 하다.

그분의 나라의 유익이 곧 우리의 유익이므로,
우리는 그 나라를 설립하기 위하여 일해야 한다.

그리스도의 제자들은 그분의 영광의 나라가 즉시 임하기를 고대했으나,

예수께서는 그들에게 이 기도를 가르쳐 주시면서

당장은 그 나라가 건설되지 않을 것이라고 말씀하셨다.

그들은 그 나라가 임하기를 기도하되 미래의 사건으로 알고 해야 했다.

그러나 이 간구는 그들에게 확신을 가져다주었다.
그들이 그 나라의 임함을 당대에 이루어질 사건으로 볼 것은 아니었지만,

예수께서 그들에게 이 일을 위해 기도하게 하신 것은

그 나라가 하나님께서 정하시는 시간에 기필코 임할 것이라는 사실을 증거해 준다.

하나님의 은혜의 왕국은

죄와 반역으로 충만해 있는 마음들이 그분의 사랑의 주권에 날마다 굴복함으로써

지금 건설 중에 있다.

그러나 그분의 영광의 나라의 완전한 건설은

그리스도께서 이 세상에 재림하실 때까지는 이루어지지 않을 것이다....

그러나 예수께서는 재림이 있기 전에

"이 천국 복음이 모든 민족에게 증거되기 위하여 온 세상에 전파"(마 24:14)될 것

이라고 말씀하셨다.

그분의 은혜의 기쁜 소식이 온 세상에 전파되기 전에는

그분의 나라가 임하지 않을 것이다.
그러므로 자신을 하나님께 바치고 다른 사람들을 그분께로 인도할 때,

우리는 그분의 나라가 빨리 임하도록 하는 것이다.

오직 "내가 여기 있나이다 나를 보내소서"(사 6:8)라고 말하면서

안 보이는 눈을 뜨게 하고

사람들로 하여금 "어두움에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아가게 하고

죄 사함과 … 거룩케 된 무리 가운데서 기업을 얻게 하"(행 26:18)기 위하여

그분의 사업에 투신하는 사람들,
이들만이 "나라이 임하옵소서" 하고 진실하게 기도한다.

?Aroma of Life I Thy Kingdom Come?

"Thy kingdom come." Matthew 6:10 .

God is our Father, who loves and cares for us as His children; He is also the great King of the universe. The interests of His kingdom are our interests, and we are to work for its upbuilding.

The disciples of Christ were looking for the immediate coming of the kingdom of His glory,
but in giving them this prayer Jesus taught that the kingdom was not then to be established.
They were to pray for its coming as an event yet future.

But this petition was also an assurance to them. While they were not to behold the coming of the kingdom in their day, the fact that Jesus bade them pray for it is evidence that in God's own time it will surely come.

The kingdom of God's grace is now being established, as day by day hearts that have been full of sin and rebellion yield to the sovereignty of His love.
But the full establishment of the kingdom of His glory will not take place until the second coming of Christ to this world....

But before that coming, Jesus said, "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations." Matthew 24:14.

His kingdom will not come until the good tidings of His grace have been carried to all the earth.
Hence, as we give ourselves to God, and win other souls to Him, we hasten the coming of His kingdom.

Only those who devote themselves to His service, saying, "Here am I; send me" (Isaiah 6:8),
to open blind eyes, to turn men "from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them which are sanctified" (Acts 26:18)—they alone pray in sincerity,
