비판하지 말고 행하라

?생명의 향기 | 비판하지 말고 행하라?

 

그대의 의견, 의무에 대한 그대의 견해, 성경에 대한 그대의 해석을

다른 사람들에 대한 표준으로 삼지 말고,

그들이 그대의 이상에 도달하지 않을지라도 마음속으로 그들을 정죄하지 말라.

 

다른 사람들을 비판하지 말며,

그들의 동기에 관해 추측하지 말고,

그들을 판단하지 말라.

 

"그러므로 때가 이르기 전 곧 주께서 오시기까지 아무것도 판단치 말라

그가 어둠에 감추인 것들을 드러내고 마음의 뜻을 나타내시리니

그때에 각 사람에게 하나님께로부터 칭찬이 있으리라"(고린도전서 4장 5절).

 

우리는 마음을 읽을 수 없다.

스스로 결점이 많기 때문에, 다른 사람들을 심판할 자리에 앉을 자격이 없다.

유한한 사람들은 오로지 밖으로 드러난 것을 통해 판단할 수 있을 뿐이다.

 

행동의 숨은 동기를 아시고, 부드럽고 자비롭게 대하시는 분만이

각 사람의 사정을 결정하실 수 있으시다.

?Aroma of Life | Not Judging, but Doing?

 

Do not make your opinions, your views of duty, your interpretations of Scripture, a criterion for others and in your heart condemn them if they do not come up to your ideal.

 

Do not criticize others, conjecturing as to their motives and passing judgment upon them.

 

“Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts.” 1 Corinthians 4:5.

 

We cannot read the heart. Ourselves faulty, we are not qualified to sit in judgment upon others. Finite men can judge only from outward appearance.

 

To Him alone who knows the secret springs of action, and who deals tenderly and compassionately, is it given to decide the case of every soul.
